Many whitening products including mouthwash, toothpastes and whitening strips can cause acne because the skin around your mouth is very sensitive and can be easily irritated. The herbs used to make chamomile tea act as a great herbal acne remedy. Save the tea bags, and when redness or swelling occurs, place the cool bag on the irritated area and see improvement within a couple hours.

Drinks like soda, tea, coffee and energy drinks can cause caffeine-induced breakouts in some people and lower the overall quality of your skin. Simply reducing the amount of caffeine you ingest can have a significant effect on your acne.

To rid yourself of acne, try to spend more time outdoors under the sun. Bear in mind that your skin will get drier the more it’s bared to the sun. Initially, you might experience your acne getting worse due to all of the oil coming to your skin’s surface. However, within a few weeks you’ll use up this reserve oil, and your skin will be healthier.

Avoid mixing different acne medications. When people have bad acne, they think that using many treatments will cure their condition faster. Acne creams contain harsh ingredients that can greatly damage your skin if they are combined haphazardly.

Switching out your sheets and cases often will greatly improve your skin’s condition. Oils will collect on your pillow cases and sheets while you sleep. They can then get onto your skin again. If you wash your linens on a regular basis, it will stop this cycle.
